Diaspora: Dissonance in F Minor
Curated by Chiara Modica Donà dalle Rose & Mama Anne

Daniel Pešta has been selected for the official programme of the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia 2026, curated by Artistic Director Koyo Kouoh under the overarching title In Minor Keys.

His installation will be presented as part of an official collateral event at Palazzo Donà Dalle Rose, a space that has long cultivated a dialogue between contemporary artistic practice, historical memory, and the layered experience of diasporic identities.

The project has been developed within the broader international programme Fissures of Light, subtitled Diaspora: Dissonance in F Minor, focusing on the complex conditions of displacement, memory, migration, and the existential fragmentation of contemporary human experience. Within this framework, Pešta’s work enters into an intense relationship with the notion of inner dissonance — understood as a space suspended between personal experience, collective history, and the continuous search for human renewal.

Daniel Pešta’s artistic practice has long evolved through a visual language shaped by tension between vulnerability and resilience, corporeality and spiritual presence. His installations oscillate between intimate gesture and monumental testimony, working with fragments of human identity, archetypal traces of pain, and the persistent possibility of transcendence. In the context of this year’s Biennale, his work resonates profoundly with the curatorial concept In Minor Keys, particularly through its sensitivity toward fragile, often overlooked dimensions of human existence and the silent psychological tensions of the contemporary world.

The Venice presentation will take place from 9 May to 22 November 2026.
